Scotland X Reader – 21st Birthday

You sighed, placing your hands in your jacket pocket.  Walking around the streets of downtown, the thought of your birthday came to you.  You tried not to cry, when you realized that no one even wished you a happy birthday.  Blinking away the teas, you tried to think about the positives.  ''A-at least no one is coming over to give me birthday punches'' you told yourself, trying to laugh.  You tried going to stores that were filled with cute knick-knacks to cheer you up.  You reached into your pocket to check the time but you realized that you've been so upset that morning that you left your phone.  You sighed a bit happily, for you remembered that this day would go by in an instant like nothing happened.

After leaving the shop, you began to walk the streets, looking around at the happy faces, smiling and laughing with their friends and even significant others.  As you thought more about them, you couldn't help but cry.  You leaned your back to a wall and began to sit and cover your face.  The tears fell from your eyes.  You've never been so upset about anyone missing your birthday before, ''so why now…?'' you asked yourself.  Suddenly, as you've cleared up from crying, you started to smell the scent of cigarettes.  You looked up from where you sat and rubbed your eyes.  As you looked around you, you saw a man with reddish hair, his hands in his pockets, smoking.  He looked very handsome even though he had a hood over his head.  He was alone, just like you.  ''Finally… you've stopped crying…'' he stated.  ''What..?'' you asked in a soft voice.  ''Oi , don't you start cryin' again…'' he had a Scottish accent.  You looked around in confusion.  ''How did you know I was crying?'' you asked him.  ''I just know… here…'' he handed you a soft kerchief.  You took it, but held it slightly in your hands.  ''Thank you…''  

It seems as if he were waiting for a bit, then suddenly he dropped his cigarette and came closer to you.  He took the kerchief out of your hands and wiped your eyes.  You blushed red, at his touch.  ''Now… better.  You're more beautiful without those teary eyes you know…'' he handed you the kerchief again and leaned his back on the wall.  You continued to stand there; it seems as if you were frozen by his warm touch.  ''Why were you crying lass?''  he asked finally.  ''I…  today's my birthday and…  no one seemed to care… about me…'' you replied.  ''Aye… is that so…'' he turned to look at you.  ''Well crying doesn't solve anything…'' he states.  ''I know but… I couldn't help myself… I feel so neglected.  It's like all of my life it's been like this.'' Tears began in your eyes again as you looked at him.  ''I'm away from my family and friends and I just can't help myself from crying… I hardly know anyone here… I just don't know what to-''  you felt yourself being brought over to him.  He put his arms around you and pulled you close to him. ''I may not know you… you may not know me lass.  But you don't need to cry anymore…  Crying doesn't solve anything… it just keeps me from seeing your beautiful face…''.  You rested your head on his shoulder for a bit.  ''Now if you want to start crying again… cry on me…'' he smiled.  For this moment, you felt as if he you knew him, as if you trusted him.  You didn't know him, nonetheless know his name but you felt as if you knew him.  You felt as if you loved him.  You closed your eyes and held him closer to you.  ''Thank you...'' you whispered to this stranger.  He pulled his hood back, revealing his red hair.  You looked up at him and your face brightened red.  He was so handsome.  

After you both released each other, you smiled as you introduced yourself.  ''Aye… __________, you're name is so beautiful… just like you'' he used his fingers to lift your chin a bit and moved his face closer to yours, as if he were about to kiss you.  He smiled as he stated, ''my name is Alec Kirkland…''.  

''To be honest… I felt as if I knew you from somewhere…'' you told him.  ''Aye… I feel the same way too…''  His face was still close to yours.  He leaned in closer and finally, gave you a warm kiss.
